We’re hiring a capable, execution-focused API & Integrations Engineer to develop a production-grade API platform and build out a series of critical fintech-related integrations. You’ll help build out our API solution and connect our system with external services that drive messaging, personalization, and customer lifecycle automation.

This is a hands-on backend engineering role ideal for someone who understands real-world systems integration—how to work with third-party APIs, normalize data, and build reliable, well-documented services.

You can join on a project basis (3–6 months with scoped milestones), or as a full-time contributor with the opportunity to grow into a more senior or permanent role as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop REST APIs to expose customer, event, and trigger data to internal and external systems.

  • Build secure, reliable fintech integrations by consuming third-party APIs and enabling real-time or near-real-time data flows.

  • Handle authentication flows and payload mapping, working with APIs that use OAuth2, API keys, and token-based auth.

  • Write and maintain API documentation using tools like Swagger or OpenAPI.

  • Monitor and optimize integration performance, ensuring low latency, resilience, and clear error handling.

  • Collaborate with front-end, product, and QA teammates to deliver complete, testable features.

  • Own the integration codebase, with responsibility for maintenance, refactoring, and extensibility.Required Skills and Experience

  • 3–5+ years of backend development experience using Node.js, Python, Go, or equivalent.

  • Strong background in building and consuming REST APIs; good understanding of API design patterns, authentication, and webhooks.

  • Experience integrating with third-party platforms in fintech, banking, CRM, or martech domains.

  • Familiar with async job handling and messaging systems (e.g. queues, retries, event consumers).

  • Proficient in writing integration and unit tests, using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and API testing tools.

  • Ability to work independently from spec or documentation and deliver reliable, production-ready code.

  • Must be physically located in the GMT to GMT-2 time zone and available during standard GMT working hours.Nice to Have

  • Prior experience integrating with CRMs, banking APIs, marketing tools, or customer data platforms.

  • Exposure to pub/sub architectures, message queues, or data pipelines.

  • Experience with schema validation, API monitoring, or developer-facing API portals.

  • Familiarity with fintech security and compliance best practices (tokenization, encryption, audit logging). What We Offer

  • Flexible work model: project-based or full-time, depending on your preference and availability.

  • Clear roadmap with milestone-based delivery, well-scoped integration targets, and limited distractions.

  • Growth opportunity: Full-time role may evolve into senior engineer or technical owner of the API layer as we scale.

  • Direct access to product and engineering leads to unblock issues quickly and ensure focus.

  • An execution-first culture with a small but close and capable team.
